Vimma is a contemporary circus duet in which two characters and two circus apparatuses, hoops and aerial hoop, come to life through play and movement. As the apparatuses merge with costumes and bodies, they guide the audience into a world full of surprise and playfulness.

Vimma captures the joy of doing and the freedom of movement. The performance invites the whole family to experience contemporary circus through play and imagination. Sisko collective is a collective founded by three sisters with roots in the Tornio River Valley in Ylitornio. Vimma is the group’s latest outdoor work, designed for audiences of all ages.

Sisko Kollektiivi

Sisko Kollektiivi is a working group founded by three sisters, whose roots are in Ylitornio in the Tornionjoki Valley. Sisters Saana, Sirje, and Riikka Tolonen grew up together doing gymnastics, dance, and circus arts. Riikka continued her journey in dance, while Saana and Sirje pursued circus arts. We have guided each artist's path back to a common crossroads and created a collective that harnesses our mutual potential. Our latest work is a new piece based on the sisters' childhood memories, created with the support of the Arts Promotion Center Finland and the Finnish Cultural Foundation's Lapland Fund in Finland. Vimma is a new duet between Sirje and Saana.
