Mud, Sweat and Circus

Ensembled is the acrobatic signature of the circus collective Arctic Ensemble: a communal circus experience in which nine acrobats and a jazz drummer transform a traditional circus tent into a playground for contemporary circus. 

The work brings together the collective’s world-class acrobatic expertise, its distinctive minimalist humor, and music composed by multi-instrumentalist Eeti Nieminen. ARCTIC ENSEMBLE

Arctic Ensemble is a contemporary circus collective that, despite its young age, has toured with Finland's National circus Sirkus Finlandia, performed in Cirque du Soleil productions, filled seats all the way in Japan, and been awarded the Finnish Sirkuksen Lumo Prize 2025. The ensemble's work centers around breath-taking acrobatics and the group's own unique circus tent. 

Arctic Ensemble is currently the only one of Finland's three touring tent circuses that presents contemporary circus. Furthermore, the circus is co-owned by the collective's members, which is also internationally unique. The group is warm-spirited and communal, operating democratically without a leader. Arctic Ensemble aims to strengthen the accessibility of performing arts throughout Finland and renew Finnish circus culture with its activities.
