Offstage: ‘Ten Years on the Road with the Circus’
Sirkuskylä K3 - Photo exhibiton
Although we are always on the road, it’s incredible how frequently we see each other. The circus community is in constant orbit, taking us everywhere and reuniting us in the most unexpected of places. We have come to know little pockets of the world—like Trutnov, Recklinghausen, or Jokkmokk—in oddly comforting and familiar ways.
2026 marks ten years since graduating circus school. This collection feels like a scrapbook of the times we’ve shared offstage together, shot on film. Thank you, friends, for the intimate, outrageous, and adventurous moments we’ve created together all over the world!

About the Artist
My name is Imogen Huzel (she/her). I’m a British-born performer and visual artist who graduated in 2016 from Stockholm University of the Arts with a bachelor’s degree in circus. In the years since, I've been lucky enough to travel to over 35 countries with my work.
I have an ongoing and complicated love story with Berlin. It’s home, but life usually passes elsewhere. “Elsewhere” has become the subject of my ongoing photography series and the most reliable consistency I’ve found within this lifestyle.

For the past 12 years, I’ve been shooting, developing, and experimenting with film photography; it has become a grounding way to appreciate both the beauty of the places we travel to and the community we are part of.
